Simple Halloween Mani

Yesterday was a Halloween dress up event at my work, so I decided to do my nails orange.
I used Hot Topic's Orange Scented polish with is sooo pretty. It looks so warm and shimmery! Then on top I added some flakies made by a Japanese company, Dear Laura, and finally matte'd it out.
I bought these three, but the pink and blue look exactly the same on nails. So many cries.
Kitty attack!
Sadly, these don't have actual names, just numbers from what I can tell. They were numbered 37, 38 and 39 I think, though I can check if anyone really wants to know. These bottles are tiny tiny tiny and cost like $6, ugh. Still, they're so pretty it is kinda worth it. I don't own any other flakies right now, but compared to pictures of other brands I've seen like Nubar, Nfu-Oh and Orly, these flakes are a lot smaller. I tried to get a good picture but the macro mode on my camera blows.
Best I could do, sorry!
I do like that it just gives it an extra bit of warmth, it reminds me of fire. I already have a Hunger Games mani planned out for when the movie comes out involving these two!

At the mall they were having a dog costume contest. I saw this and had to get a picture, so freaking cute!

Disco Till Dawn

Sorry for not posting in so long! I have been super busy and tired lately so I haven't been doing much of anything outside of school and work. Today I have a mani made with two frankens I made a few nights ago. I'll make a bigger post about frankens in a few days, but here is a little preview!
I named the holo/silver glitter 'Disco Till Dawn' and the gold jelly is '24k Candy'. The glitter isn't quite opaque enough for me, so I layered it over Sinful Colors 'Secret Admirer'.
Disco Till Dawn has all kinds of glitters in it...I can't even really remember! I think it started with some Wet N Wild polish I don't remember the name of, then I added in some of the Fantasy Maker Holographic Glitter, Sally Hansen 'In the Spotlight', and a touch of Finger Paints 'Easel Come, Easel Go'.

Spotted Chameleon

I've been looking for the On The Prowl Wet'N'Wild collection to no avail, unfortunately. But in my trip to RiteAid last night I did come across a display of polish brands I wasn't familiar with. The only line I recognized were the Petites, which I have bought from WalMart in the past. Everything else was pretty basic, but one line caught my eye.
The maker is Scherer and the line is Chameleon. All the polishes are supposed to be duochrome though I noticed some were more than others. A lot of them were pretty expected, of course they had a green/blue, purple/green, white/pink/blue yadda yadda. But this one caught my eye, maybe because I love gold polishes.
The color is called "Galactic" and is a sandy gold. If I were to really identify a duochrome in this, I guess I would say it goes from a bright gold do a darker grey-gold, but they may just be a shadow thing. Still, this color is just gorgeous. Granted, it does nothing for my skin tone...so I decided to use it as a base to stamp over.

I stamped with Revlon "Black Lingerie" but it still looked a little plain, so I added Sinful Colors "All About You" in some of the spots. I swear, I probably use that color in half of everything I do, haha.

You probably notice my stamping is incredibly messy...I honestly am terrible at it. I'm pretty new to it, so hopefully in time I will get the hang of it. Also, I have a problem with my nails being quite a bit larger than the stamps. I have to stamp a couple times for patterns likes this, it's a bit of a pain. Well, at least it is better than having to hand paint all of this!

I was pretty quick to pass up the rest of the Chameleon colors since this was the only creative one I saw, but maybe I was too quick? Anyone else tried these and liked any other shades?

Name Me! Purple Franken

I have a couple frankens to show you today! I am planning on buying some supplies off TKB in the near future so I can really get into frankening, but here are a couple I have made so far. I've made one other, but it came out so bad I will probably just dump it, no fun when then color comes off a glitter.

The first I made is inspired by Disney's Cinderella. I know Disney just came out with a set of nail polishes, but in my opinion they are a bit dull. Expected I suppose. I wanted to make my own interpretations of the princesses. I actually have plans for other princess polishes too, so look out for those when I get my supplies!
With flash, Without flash
This color is called 'Glass Slipper' and is a very sheer blue shimmer with some larger pieces of blue and white glitter in it. I'll use it in a manicure some time to give you a better idea, but here is a fake nail with it painted on. So you can get an idea of how it would look on different layers, it is over clear, the white of the fake nail, and an opaque white polish.
I think it's a bit of a tricky one to capture on camera, the blue glitter comes out a bit like black dots or something. In real life it is just very shimmery and really does look like glass to me! I completely forgot what I mixed to make this, though I do think I have it written down somewhere. I went a little crazy with it and improvised a lot of the formula though.

My second franken is in desperate need of a name!
It is a dark purple jelly shimmer with purple glitter, holo glitter and gold glitter, though the gold didn't pick up much in my lighting. If only we had sun in Daly City...
For this I used a bottle of Confetti 'Happy Birthday' and mixed in some Sinful Color's 'All About You' and 'I Miss You'. This is pretty much my perfect polish, haha! I will definitely get some photos of me actually wearing this one, hopefully it will have a name before then.

Here is the actual mani I was wearing today.
It's one coat of Ulta 'Envy' with a coat of Sinful Colors 'Nail Junkie' over it, then a matte top coat. Nothing exciting but after trying 4 different manis yesterday I just gave up.

Big Weekend Haul

I'm such an addict, I have to cut back for a while, haha. But after this weekend I should have plenty of things to have fun with for the next few weeks! My cat decided she wanted to be photographed as well, so there are a few photobombs, haha.
Middle Front: Ulta
Side Front: Target
Back: Biglots
I went on a little nail polish spending spree, oops! Super happy with all my purchases though. I actually forgot a couple: I also got Fright Night Claw Polish in Voodoo and Sinister.
Wet n Wild: Glow in the Dark, Purple Sparkle, ?, ?
The last two didn't have labels on them and I bought them in a two back from BigLots so I have no idea what they're called...which really sucks, because I am in LOVE with the last one! It is much more nude than it looks in this picture. Here is it on me, since I loved it so much it was the one I had to try first. If anyone knows the name of these two, please so tell~
With Sinful Colors "All About You" on my ring finger
This color is gorgeous, it's a very glossy nude with white microglitter. I decided to wear it to my new job today (Disney Store! Yay, so excited!) since their dress code mandates a neutral color. Though, this is extremely neutral, it nearly matches my skin completely haha. It took four coats to get it to an acceptable opacity, it probably would be better used over a thick nude shade just to add the gloss and sparkle since I hate doing that many coats. As much as I love it, it is very plain, so I had to add some extra pop to the accent finger, using another of my current favorites, Sinful Color's "All About You".
Color Mates: Romance, Adobe, Winey the Pooh
These were in a three pack at BigLots...Romance appears to be your average red, Adobe is kind of an interesting pink with a slightly orange tint and a lot of silver shimmer, while Winey the Pooh...I can't really tell the color of. From the name, I'm guessing it's supposed to be some sort of wine red, but it looks really brown to me.  I really just bought this back for Adobe.
e.l.f: Purple Pleaser, Lilac, Blue Mist, Mango Madness, Fuchsia
Photobombed!
I can't resist mint polishes...mint and fuchsia are my colors for the winter so this set was a must buy. I love the orange too.
Revlon: Black Lingerie, Tropical Temptation, Posh Pink, Iced Spice, Pink Chiffon, Get Reddy
These came in 2-packs for $2 each, total steal. I love Get Reddy and Posh Pink the most, probably.
OPI DS Jewel, LA Colors Art Deco Gold, Sally Hansen Crackle Fractured Foil, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On
Meow!
Er...crap. Darn my Ulta! Ugh. I had been looking at the Miss Universe OPI display and remembered that I wanted "It's My Year", though to be honest I couldn't remember what it looked like, so I grabbed the polish that was in there...needless to say, this is not "It's My Year". That place is SO disorganized! All the polishes are always in the wrong place. But, at least, Jewel is a pretty color itself, kind of a dark pink with a bronze shimmer. I have been playing around with that silver crackle and I am just not digging it, the formula is super thin so you can't get a good, prominent coat of it. Maybe over a really dark color or matte I will be better off, right now it is just doing nothing for me.
Ulta: Envy, Ginger Peach, Bam-Blue-Zled, Love My Blackberry
Ulta polishes were 2/$6 (or Buy One Get One Free) so I had to pick a few up. I've been wanting a nice emerald green since all my greens fall into either lime or teal, so I picked up Envy which is a lot lighter than it looks in my picture. Looking at it now it looks like there is a little blue (maybe even a bit of purple) shimmer to it, but it's all good. I can't figure out if Bam-Blue-Zled is light blue or periwinkle, the lighting really changes it.
ORLY: Galaxy Girl, Lunar Eclipse, Space Cadet
Alright, if you have seen these polishes from the ORLY Space FX collection in real life you know my picture here does them no justice. These polishes are gorgeous! Apparently this is a collection from 2010? My Ulta had a ton of these left! Good for me, haha. I am going to have to go back and see if they have "Out of This World" sometime. I was going to pass up on Space Cadet at first since, while it's beautiful, I'm just not too into green-golds. But since these were buy 2, get 1 free..well, can't pass up something that is free!

Woo! That's the end, haha. That's a lot of polish for one weekend, now comes the challenge of deciding what to wear!
